Change your food. Change your life. That's the motto Brittney, the face behind WholeBertie, lives by. She helps others change their life through food using the Whole30 program, with the ultimate goal helping them reach their own form of food freedom.
As a certified Whole30 coach, she's crafted a recipe that brings together real ingredients for a hearty, wholesome meal.
Growing up, one of my favorite things was having sausage, pepper and onion sandwiches. Now, I've reinvented this childhood favorite into a Whole30 approved meal the whole family can enjoy!
Heat a pot with olive oil on medium and add sausage (break up while cooking). Once browned, remove to a paper towel lined plate to soak up the grease.
Using the grease left in the pan, add the peppers and onions. Cook for about 7 minutes then add in cauliflower rice. (If using frozen, cook separately as not to get the pan watery). Cook until cauliflower is tender, about 5 more minutes.
Turn heat to low, add back in the sausage and add the marinara sauce and seasonings. Mix thoroughly.
